Our Name
The original JaySix was founded by Donald Souza, the patriarch of the Souza Family. Originally a machine shop, JaySix was named after Donald, his wife Audrey, and their 4 children who all have middle names starting with the letter J. He built his business by hard work and cultivating relationships for products that were made with precision and quality. It is only fitting that J6 Collective is named in memory and spirit of Donald, by his son Dale and granddaughter Francesca. With every piece created here, the legacy of a great man lives on.
Francesca
Francesca's creativity began at an early age and evolved into a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art & Design from Alfred University in 2016. Francesca's work embodies the essence of J6 Collective with her artistic focus on woodworking, sculpture, and fiber art. Her current body of work involves paper embroidery, wood burned mandalas, and furniture and houseware collaborations with her Dad.
Dale
Dale is a carpenter by trade which led to his love of woodworking. The discovery and restoration of of his Father's wood lathe, inspired him to turn that love into pieces everyone could enjoy. He began tinkering in wood turning, mastering his craft into wood turned bowls, lamps, tables, and other home goods.
